Background
Catalysing Regional Growth
Iskandar Malaysia is one of the five regional cities and corridors created by the Malaysian Government to propel the economic growth of the country. The future direction of Iskandar Malaysia is charted by a Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP), which is a long-term blueprint for growth covering the whole region of about 2,217 sq.km in size. The CDP addresses socio-economic development in a holistic and sustainable fashion, with particular emphasis being placed on creating a healthy investment climate that is attractive to local and foreign investors.
The CDP identifies 5 flagship development zones to spearhead and become focal points for development in Iskandar Malaysia. The flagship zones have been envisaged to quantum leap Iskandar Malaysia into new growth horizon, strengthening existing economic cluster and diversifying the whole economy of Iskandar Malaysia.
